Tempe Noise Take Over 2024
From September 6th to the 8th, Tempe Noise Takeover held its second annual FREE music festival. Thirty-plus bands and two venues, Yucca Taproom and Time Out Lounge, put on a weekend of local music to support the Abortion Fund of Arizona.
Each night, the festival was a testament to the incredible support from the charity and the local talent. The community's involvement was evident in both venues' diverse musical genres. This collective effort significantly contributed over $1000, underscoring the community's unwavering support for local music and important causes.
Some notable people to recognize who, without involvement, this event could not have occurred. Danny Duoshade, a member of Black Caesar Soul Club, Mississippi Nova, The Saturn III, and Wurmfur, played a crucial role in running the show, working behind the scenes to organize the festival and select talent. He also assisted with moving gear for the bands, ran the merchandise booth, and performed with his band, Mississippi Nova.
Marcus Rushmore, who plays in Let Alone, contributed significantly by helping to organize the event, selecting talent, and managing the website and media aspects. Lola Fleischhacker, a bartender at Yucca, worked tirelessly throughout the three-night event, balancing her duties of serving drinks with taking videos of every band and ensuring the crowd and talent were happy.
Laura, the owner of Timeout, was present each night from 5 p.m. until close, assisting with setup and breakdown, checking IDs, running the door, taking videos, providing water, and even making tea for those who needed it. Darin Seynk, a member of The Ephemeral, brought an entire sound system and expertly ran sound all three nights at Timeout, proving to be an invaluable team member. Every band that performed generously donated their time and energy to support a good cause.
With the success of this musical weekend, it is hopeful this event will continue to thrive for many years to come.
